A new album, a new tour - the beginning of a new era

2025 was yet another milestone for Antwerp based Triggerfinger, whose career now spans 25 years.Last autumn - only a few days after the band released their first new track since 2017 - marked the tragic passing of the band’s iconic bass player Monsieur Paul. Paul had left the band in 2023 due to medical issues, but he remained a close friend and brother of Mario and Ruben.

“Stars” was well received both by old & new fans alike and opened new doors. The band reintroduced themselves to the international live scene with a 25-date tour, which was a resounding success, with most shows selling out. While ”Stars” revealed an obvious link with Triggerfinger’s earlier repertoire, second single ”Come Clean” (released in January ‘26) might have caught friend and foe off-guard with a new sound, announcing a wind of change in the band’s musical DNA.

Before summer 2026, the band will release two more songs and prepare for their first festival summer tour in a long time. But most importantly: in September, a long-awaited new studio album will see the light of day, the first one since Colossus in 2017, and therefore, the first official album without Monsieur Paul.

Ruben & Mario headed out to Los Angeles, where Mitchell Froom gave them a warm welcome. Froom is not exactly unknown to the Triggerfingers. On the new recording he is explicitly present, as he incited both Mario & Ruben to look beyond their comfort zone, to find alternative ways of composing and head out into the unknown without having a clear view on what the eventual result could become.

With their new album, Triggerfinger shows they’re back in the game, better than ever, and prove they are one of the very few true European rock bands to have survived trends & hypes

Live on stage: expect more of the same, but differently. Top notch musician Geoffrey Burton has now picked up the bass. Geoffrey has played alongside many great musicians such as Ostend’s best Arno, Grace Jones, Iggy Pop, the (late) Portuguese fado star Misia & many other. Funny fact: just like Mr. Paul, Geoffrey is in origin a brilliant guitarist, who has his very own ways of treating the bass guitar.

Triggerfinger’s new album will be released on HUFTER recordings/Sony Music Entertainment Benelux & EuropeAnd on VERYCORDS, Paris for France

The album’s release date + title will be revealed on May 22.
