PRETTY LIGHTNING + guests Neue Zukunft, Berlin am 25.11.26

Germany-based psych-blues duo Pretty Lightning are now on their sixth full-length, have toured around the UK and Europe on numerous occasions and shared stages with the likes of Moon Duo, Clinic, Kikagaku Moyo, Kadavar and Night Beats, among many others. The duo tick off a long list of influences – from 60s psych and delta blues through to experimental rock and drone – and the end product is a throbbing blues psychedelic gloop that collides with the communal vibe of some of their Krautrock forefathers. As often as their sound is indeed full to the brim with crunch, swagger and feedback, Pretty Lightning are also just capable of easing off on that oft-abused accelerator and dealing in something more far hypnotic and drone-like. Fried guitars melt into hazy soundscapes and play angular and repetitive melodies along gritty plodding drums and gooey loops of keys and bells.

With the release of their 2022 LP ‘Dust Moves’, Pretty Lightning began to explore new territory as it´s the band’s first fully instrumental record, offering meandering, cinematic desert blues, strung-out psych-rock and widescreen, hypnotic drones. The follow up album ´Night Wobble´ (2025) pursues this journey, digging even deeper into trippy, instrumental wooziness.

Pretty Lightning will be touring as an instrumental trio in 2026 performing songs exclusively from their last two instrumental outputs.
